Cherrie Rain is a small farm located in Pierce County, between Olympia and Spanaway, WA. where God has blessed me with beautiful Nubian dairy goats, some black and paint boer meat goats, 2 horses, a couple of barn cats, and a pitbull terrier.
Cherrie Rain started in 2006 with two bottle babies in the closet of my bedroom. It didn't take long for me to fall in love with them and decide to raise goats full time. After having several different breeds I decided to refine the herd to the Nubian, using a lot of Kastdemur's, Lassenwood & Wingwood and recently introducing some Copper Hill, My Enchanted Acres and Remuda.
WHAT I DO AT CHERRIE RAIN
I strive on producing strong bodied animals that are smoothly blended, balanced and elegant with high and tight mammary systems, flatness of bone and flat level toplines. I like rear legs that are very angular with good width between their hocks. A goat that shows lovely dairy type that is correct and bred for longevity with does not fully maturing until 3-4 years of age and who can produce offspring that exceed themselves.
Cherrie Rain is ever changing and I am very excited about my kid crops. They are stunning and getting better every year. Finally I have some of my own breedings and cannot wait to see what the future brings.
I have to give a big thank you to my hubby for supporting me and my dream of raising goats.
***Cherrie Rain tested negative again against CAE, CL and Johnes in February 2011***
Linear appraisals were great this year and cannot wait for 2012.
